About Us

At 135th Street Elementary, we envision all students learning and mastering complex critical thinking skills and concepts which will enable them to be productive citizens in our democratic society and have the cultural competence to embrace global diversity and compete in a global economy. We have the sound belief that all of our students can learn at high levels and it is our professional and moral imperative to ensure that every student has the needed supports to meet and exceed academically. Our 50/50 Model Spanish/English Dual Language program will begin in the 2018-2019 school year with a Kindergarten class that promotes bilingualism, biliteracy, and multiculturalism through the teaching of a rigorous curriculum in language arts, social studies with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM).
