Elementary Reading First schools received a Lexmark Multifunction printer for printing and scanning bubble answer sheets for standards based tests.

Log in > Go to LAUSD Progress Monitoring Assessments >  
Skill Resources >
(Skip "Curriculum Standard" drop down DOES NOT WORK) >

Click on "Search" and all standards should appear. Select Standard.*
A number of lessons and worksheets should appear. For viewing larger text, go to the browser drop-down menu to select larger text.

* if your selection page requires other words, just type a letter (a) in both fields to see all the standards.

Lexmark Multifunction Device Details

All schools will be able to create and administer tests online without the use of the Lexark multifunction device.

Login with your LAUSD eMail name and password

Go to SECOND section "LAUSD Progress Monitoring Assessments" to create assessments.

Teachers only - Click on your Room number when it shows

Roll mouse over  "Assessments". Click on "Create Assessment" seen in drop-down menu.
If the drop menu does not appear, try a different browser.

Expand the standards (click on +) to view substandards. Repeat expanding (click on +) again if needed.
The BLUE filled boxes are not editable - they show subtotals and totals of numbers of questions.
The WHITE boxes are editable - this is where the number of questions can be entered.
There may be limits to maximum numbers (1, 2, 3) of questions you can create.

SAVE the assessment with a unique name - not the generic title provided.
ELA or Math :: Grade :: PartialLastName :: StandardNumbers

If you SHARE the test it is searchable by all LAUSD teachers

To PRINT the test, click on PRINT - STUDENT VERSION. A PDF file is sent to your eMail.

Printing answer sheets that will be scanned are printed on the Lexmark ONLY.

Students may not write anything on the BAR CODE if it is to be scanned.

Student may use pencils on answer sheets to be scanned.

 

Most tests can have up to 10 -12 questions.

 

Operational Notes on Paper and Cartridges:
Answer sheets to be scanned can be printed ONLY with the Lexmark. Reason: the barcode will be more precise.
Use white letter paper for printing answer sheets to be scanned - not recycled or colored.
Use Lexmark ton
er cartridges. Delivered: one 7,000 starter toner plus two 36,000 copy toner cartridges.
The Lexmark machine is located on the administration network - a requirement.

Note: The CORE K12 Assessment Center closes for regular maintenance every Wednesday from 6PM to midnight.

Administrator level accounts DO NOT have access to the Lexmark.

Browsers that can be used students to do ANSWERS ONLINE.

Printing Tests from PCs

You get the test via eMail to your LAUSD eMail account.

Open the link.

It is on a webpage. You may not be able to print the test as a webpage.

SAVE the tests as a .PDF to your desktop.

Change the file name to something meaningful to you.

Open the PDF file.

Printing should work OK.
